Impacto económico del COVID-19 sobre la infraestructura digital
Resumen
En el contexto actual de pandemia, las tecnologías digitales se han convertido en un facilitador clave de conectividad, y, con ello, el acceso a una infraestructura confiable se ha vuelto cada vez más importante. En este sentido, la Unión Internacional de Telecomunicaciones intercambió puntos de vista con respecto a la reciente investigación y análisis sobre a) el impacto económico del COVID-19 en la infraestructura digital; y b) la contribución de dicha infraestructura a la resiliencia social y económica en pandemia; y envió una encuesta a expertos económicos para que compartan toda investigación relevante sobre ambos tópicos. Este artículo proporciona un resumen de las respuestas a la encuesta, así como un informe conciso y viable sobre las iniciativas potenciales dentro del espacio de la economía digital que podrían incrementar la resiliencia social y económica.
Abstract
In the current pandemic context, digital technologies have become a key enabler of connectivity as never before, and with it, access to reliable infrastructure has become increasingly important. The International Telecommunication Union exchanged views regarding recent research and analysis on a) the economic impact of COVID-19 on digital infrastructure; and b) the contribution of said infrastructure to social and economic resilience in pandemic; and sent a survey to economic experts to share all relevant research on both topics. This article provides a summary of the survey responses, as well as a concise and actionable report on potential initiatives within the digital economy space that could increase social and economic resilience.
